Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 June 202601.What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to
remember things between visits — like whether you dismissed a banner
or how you use the site. Some are essential; others are optional and
only set with your consent. We also use similar technologies such as
localStorage, which this policy covers as well.
02.Which cookies we use
The HALCYON website keeps its cookie footprint deliberately small:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
halcyon-cookie-consent |
Essential (localStorage) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies, so we don't ask on every page. | Until you clear browser data |
halcyon-session |
Essential | Keeps you signed in to your member account while you browse and book. | Session |
halcyon-booking |
Essential | Holds an in-progress booking while you complete it. | 1 hour |
_analytics |
Analytics (optional) | Helps us understand which pages are useful, in aggregate. Set only if you click "Accept". | 13 months |
03.Your consent
On your first visit, a small banner asks whether you accept optional cookies. Essential cookies work either way, because the site cannot function without them.
- Accept — optional analytics cookies are enabled.
- Decline — only essential cookies are used.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser — the banner will appear again on your next visit.
04.Managing cookies in your browser
All major browsers let you view, block and delete cookies per site. The settings live here:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site settings.
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
Blocking essential cookies may break sign-in and booking on this site — everything else will keep working.
05.Third-party cookies
Web fonts on this site are loaded from Google Fonts, which may log
standard technical request data (such as your IP address) to deliver
the font files; Google states these requests are not used for
profiling. Our optional analytics provider sets the single
_analytics cookie described above, only after you
accept. No other third parties set cookies through this website.
06.Updates to this policy
If we add or change cookies, we will update the table above and refresh the "last updated" date. For significant changes — such as introducing a new optional category — we will ask for your consent again.
